The treatment can last up to 3 years. Yearly touch-ups are recommended to maintain the colour.

Everyone is different but do expect some sensitivity and discomfort in certain areas as it is cosmetic tattooing of pigment into the lip area. Although numbing cream is used during the procedure some sensitivity or discomfort may still be felt. Skin may be red and/or swollen after the procedure.

Initially the color will appear much more vibrant or darker compared to the end result. Usually within 5-7 days, the colour will lighten 40-50%, soften and look more natural. It will go through a healing stage where the colour lightens and then it darkens again in a few weeks. True colour can be seen up to 6 weeks post-treatment. The pigment will fade somewhat over time and will likely need to be touched-up through the years.

Lip neutralisation is the art of covering darker pigmentation through the use of lip blushing techniques. It may take more than 2-3 sessions, depending on each individual case as first we have to ‘neutralise’ the pigment colour of your lips before we can add on the desired coloured pigment during the last few touch-ups. It is a buildable treatment and every individual differs so please discuss any concerns during your consultation with us.
